Personally, I liked these characters. I liked Julies strong personality. She spoke her mind and you knew where you stood with her. I could understand how this type of strong personality could be attractive to a man and there are no games or facades. She's totally "up front" with her thoughts and feelings. Her brassy personality is also a defensive system she's developed.
Nathan was equally attractive to me, and I certainly could see how these two individuals could be drawn to each other....as opposites definitely do attract. He's such a Macho Gentleman and kind of shy in many ways...sometimes intimidated by what he feels might be his inadequacies. When he finally has had enough of Julie running from him, he takes a stand and it's GAME ON!
Even though this story was entertaining, it wasn't one of Ms. Banks best plots. I don't know if it's because the characters weren't strong central characters in her other stories (but rather stood more in the shadows), or if it was just the plot as a whole. The story is told well and more or less holds the readers interest.... But I found I kept wondering when the frikkin' thing was gonna come to a conclusion and we'd have closure."

Owning her own salon is a dream, but giving Nathan Tucker massages is kicking up her libido. Doing everything but coming right out and saying it, Julie want Nathan. But since he is showing no signs of wanting her back, she is moving on and taking life by the horns and doing what she wants. Giving him his last massage with a parting gift, Julie goes off to live her fantasy of a ménage.
Nathan Tucker is what dreams are made of. A body women were made to love, but he likes to take things slow and respects all the women in his life. Shy, he wasn't able to get past it to ask Julie out. But her parting gift makes him want it all only to have her shut him out and avoid him.
When he learns Julie wants a ménage and to be blindfolded for it, he reluctantly agrees to be part of it. Not reluctant to make love to Julie, but reluctant to share her, even with a friend. But when it is all over, will they be able to become a couple or will everything keep pulling them apart?
This is a cute addition to the Sweet series by Maya Banks. I will admit, I have wanted to read this series for some time, but the price of the books is prohibiting me at this time. I started with book 1, but when I went to check out the rest of the series I found I already owned book 3. So I skipped book 2, but will be going back to get it when my book buying ban is up.
The descriptive detail Maya Banks goes to in these love scenes is phenomenal! You feel all the touches in your mind, the gentle slide of hands, the kiss that knocks your socks off and the hot men making her fantasy come alive. What I truly loved about the book was how the author makes Julie understand that what she really wants isn't exactly what she is going after.
The characters are a blast! Julie is a woman who isn't afraid to go after what she wants. She works hard and plays hard. But you want her to be lassoed and loved dearly and that is what she gets in Nathan. Nathan is the man of many women's dreams! He is build, tall, manly man. But he is also shy and extremely inept in letting Julie know what he is feeling. Welcome back Faith who gives him some hard advice, but she is also Julie's friend so not an inside info.
There is three side stories going on as well. You see Faith and Gray again as they are preparing for their wedding with some wrenches thrown in. Then there is Serena and Damon picking up where their story left off (I can't wait to read their story!). And finally we see Micah confronting his past each year. His story is next and it is bound to throw me for so many loops!
This series is a fun alternative to some normal contemporary romances. It has a lot of erotic twists. Bring a bottle of water when reading. You will need it. - The story continues with a focus on Julie & Nathan. I wanted to kick her butt at times bc of her childish antics when Faith & Serena seemed much more mature but that same trait also brought out the true age of these friends reminding me of my crazy 20's & my friends. Faith and Serena's stories continue as well leading you on the journey of their potential futures. My only dislike was the throw in chapters of Micah trying to lead into the next book, "his story". They were out of place & should have been inserted earlier when a discussion by pop in his office with the boys gave light to Mikah. I'm not one to spoil a good book so those who read it understand & those entering the adventure will see. In either case, loved it and read it in an evening.
- The Sweet Series is amazing! I love all the characters; they are sexy, lovable, relatable, and well developed. The plot is great and well executed, and the writing is superb. I have owned this book for well over a year and within that time I have re-read this book at least four times. I love everything about this book (and the Sweet Series in general) so I have to re-read it whenever I get character withdrawal. I not only recommend this book and the whole Sweet Series, but also everything else this amazing author has written. Whatever she writes turns into gold.
- I am a big fan of this series, and Sweet Seduction was definitely a favorite. Banks has good character development, an interesting plot, and plenty of heat in this book. I couldn't put it down and read it straight through in a few hours! I was starting to wonder if Julie and Nathan would finally get together or just kill each other. That being said (SPOILER ALERT), this book does get into some sexual encounters that may offend conservative people out there with its very detailed threesomes. If threesomes bother you, or graphic sex scenes bother you, this book is NOT going to be up your alley.
